Colin Heap – IFA
Colin entered the financial services business in 1990 with the Co-operative Insurance Society where he was an adviser, sales manager and district manager. He moved on to work for Nat West Bank in 2007 as a Senior Business Financial Planning Manager where he worked together with individuals and businesses alike in helping them fulfil their objectives and needs.
With 24 years experience, Colin has become a skilled and imaginative adviser in the use of pensions, protection and managed investments for businesses and individuals, specialising in pension advice and working together with accountants on tax issues in order to help clients.
He has a BEC National Diploma in Business Studies and is accredited to the Chartered Insurance Institute as Diploma qualified, having passed all the required levels to attain diploma status in 2012. His aim has always been to provide clients with peace of mind by creating a personalised financial plan across all aspects of their finances to help them visualise whether they are “on track” or not. He feels that he caters for clients who want an ongoing service and relationship rather than “one off” advice.
Colin is married to Jayne and has four children, Kirsty, Laura, Charlotte and Callum together with two grandchildren, Lily and Charlie.
Colin lives in his hometown of Nelson, Lancashire and outside of work enjoys playing golf at Nelson Golf Club, where he is a member and watching his nephew play cricket at Nelson Cricket Club, where he himself played for 25 years. He is an avid sports fan and a lifelong supporter of Burnley F.C. He also enjoys walking in the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.
